We get the dubious honor to present a new event on the 2011 4th of July schedule! The Granbury Chamber is teaming up with 92.1 KTFW out of Fort Worth to present a Family Fun Afternoon on Sunday, July 3rd. From 1:30 – 4:30 p.m. we will have a dunking booth set up in front of Granbury Live where you will get a chance to dunk some of your favorite Granbury citizens. Participants get to three chances to dunk their favorites for $5. All proceeds raised will benefit Ruth’s Place.
The purpose of Ruth’s Place Clinic is to provide free medical and other family services as needed to indigent, low income, uninsured, or under-insured families. Once a week they also operate a food pantry. To learn more about Ruth’s Place visit www.ruthsplace.org.
Get your throwing arm ready!
One of the many traditions of the Annual Old-Fashioned 4th of July Celebration is our Hometown Parade. With 20,000 spectators and over 100 colorful entries, the parade is a crowd pleaser year after year.
Always leading off is our Granbury HS JROTC Marine color guard with the parade Grand Marshal following. Previous Grand Marshals have been former Texas Governor George W. Bush, WNBA Star and local gal Jia Perkins, and Granbury’s own Leta Andrews – the most winningest basketball coach in the United States.
Making up the parade are our elected officials, volunteer fire stations, floats representing businesses and local organizations, and always closing up the show is the Shriners.
Businesses and local organizations can join the parade by filling out a parade application and returning it to the Chamber by June 1st. Applications can be found HERE.
We invite you to join us for the 37th Annual Hometown Parade! Don’t forget to grab your seats early!
