The Granbury Chamber of Commerce teamed up with the fourth grade classes in Granbury Independent School District to gather masterpieces of art depicting what the Fourth of July means to them.

Over three hundred students submitted their interpretations for a chance to win $30 and a first-place blue ribbon representing each school.

Campus winners were:

Acton Elementary School:  Yari Press, first; Benjamin Lillagore, second; Madi Salazar, third

Baccus Elementary School:  Blaine Dixon, first; Randi Spurlock, second; Jacob Kelsey, third

Brawner Intermediate School:  Kylie Horton, first; Ashley Fant, second; Courtney Gilley, third

Mambrino School:  Brock McKee, first

Oak Woods School:  Micah Tucker, first; Jillian Richardson, second

Prior to the Fourth of July Celebration, various businesses around town will display the masterpieces to create excitement leading up to the event.  During the festival, Tarleton’s Dora Lee Langdon Center will open the Concert Hall for an art show featuring the winners’ and other masterpieces.

The art project was sponsored by Glasgow, Taylor, Isham and Glasgow Law Firm.
